Nike Football Training Camp Preview

There are several big names and loaded position groups listed on the roster for the Chicago area Nike Football Training Camp, scheduled to take place on Sunday at Addison Trail High School.

Michigan WR commit Drake Harris.

Big Names

Four 247Composite Top50 prospects highlight the deep and talented field in linebackers Clifton Garrett and Nyles Morgan, Michigan receiver commit Drake Harris and offensive tackle Jamarco Jones.

The five-star Garrett is favoring LSU at this point in the recruiting process, while also still considering the likes of Alabama, Florida, Ohio State and USC. Jones is high on Ohio State, while also still looking at several places including Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame. Morgan is taking the recruiting process very slow at this point, but Notre Dame, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt are a few that have definitely impressed.

Running Backs Galore

There will be plenty of big-time guys to see at the running back position, paced by a pair of Top247 prospects in Minnesota commit Jeff Jones and Vanderbilt pledge Mikale Wilbon.

Kansas State four-star commit Dalvin Warmack is as exciting a player as anyone with the ball in his hands.

Niles (Ill.) Notre Dame running back Chris James is expecting to put up a big Sparq score at the start of the camp. He is favoring Michigan State, Pittsburgh and Iowa at this point in the recruiting process.

Iowa State has the inside track for Tommy Mister, who was recently offered by Michigan State. Illinois and Boston College are out in front for Matt Domer.

Touted DT Peyton Newell has over 30 offers.

Underclassmen in East St. Louis (Ill.) High 2015 running back Natereace Strong and O’Fallon (Ill.) High 2016 standout Kentrail Moran figure to be national recruits. Ohio State offered Strong earlier this week.

Ohio State defensive tackle commit Dylan Thompson is one of the Midwest’s more physically impressive prospects. Defensive end/outside linebacker Gelen Robinson is a three-sport all-stater in Indiana that recently added a Vanderbilt offer. He’s high on Illinois and Purdue. Defensive end Billy Hirschfeld has plenty of BCS offers to consider.

Two of the nation’s top 2015 defensive ends in Jashon Cornell of Cretin Derham Hall in Minnesota and East St. Louis standout Terry Beckner Jr. will have a chance to continue building on their fast growing reputations. Ohio State offered both this past week.

Offensive Skill Guys To Keep An Eye On

Iowa State commit Allen Lazard is the nation’s No. 10 athlete recruit according to the 247Composite.

Tennessee TE commit Daniel Helm.

Detroit (Mich.) Country Day receiver Maurice Ways was one of the Midwest’s hottest recruits before committing to Michigan less than two weeks ago.

Tennessee tight end commit Daniel Helm was one of three Illinois tight ends being nationally recruited.

Carmel (Ind.) High’s Austin Roberts is a coveted h-back/tight end prospect that won the 100-meter dash of his county track meet on Friday with a time of 10.8 seconds. Roberts is excited about his offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, Ohio State and Stanford.

Joining Roberts from the Hoosier State are a pair of 4.4 guys in Indianapolis Cathedral’s Terry McLaurin and Fishers Hamilton Southeastern’s Cameron Polk. McLaurin added offers from Boston College and Iowa this week.

Raleigh (N.C.) Leesville Road receiver Braxton Berrios has a top seven of Clemson, Kentucky, N.C. State, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.
