Johnson comes up big for USA

Dakari Johnson came through with a big game during a successful weekend for the USA 17U National basketball team.

Johnson is a presence inside.

The USA went 2-0 over the weekend to push its record to 3-0 in the World Championship Games.

In the 95-57 victory over the Czech Republic, Johnson, a 2014 center prospect, scored a team high 16 points and grabbed a team high 12 rebounds.

Six other USA players scored in double digits in a balanced USA attack.

The USA also defeated Egypt 111-73. Jabari Parker and Conner Frankamp were the leading scorers with 18 points each.

Kendrick Nunn, Jahlil Okafor and Johnathan Williams also scored in double digits with Okafor grabbing a team high seven rebounds.

Point guards Tyus Jones and Joel Berry combined for nine assists in the win.

The next game in the tournament for the USA will be against France this Tuesday.
