Sina commits to Cal

Sina committed to Cal following his official visit this weekend.

New head coach Sonny Dykes and Cal continue to build some huge momentum on the recruiting trail. Today the staff got another big commitment, this time from San Mateo (Calif.) defensive end Sione Sina.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound defensive end took an official visit to Berkeley this past weekend. Sina had also previously visited Oregon, Washington State and BYU among others.

Sina will be a great fit for Cal, assuming they feature a similar to defense to former head coach Jeff Tedford. Under Tedford, Cal ran a 3-4 which also highlighted a stand-up rush end or jumbo outside linebacker.

Cal is now up to 19 total commits in the 2013 class following this verbal commitment, along with offensive lineman Erik Bunte yesterday.

Sina will sign his letter of intent to play for Cal this week as the signing period for junior college players begins.
