Former Notre Dame commit Jamel James is now looking at Arizona State, Ole Miss and Washington.
The 5-foot-11, 215-pound power back then made somewhat of a surprise commitment to Notre Dame in late July.
However, now things have change once again for James.
“He has de-committed from Notre Dame,” Cinco Ranch head coach Don Clayton said early Wednesday afternoon. “He just decided to look at some other places instead.”
Several schools have kept in contact with the Houston-area runner and three of them seem to have his eye at the moment.
“He’s looking at a few schools,” Clayton said. “Washington is one he’s looking at really closely. He’s also interested in Ole Miss and Arizona State, I know that. There might be others. He’s going to have to see who wants to look at come January.”
The loss of James does not look like too big a blow for the Fighting Irish as they are in good position to land four-star Cocoa, Fla., running back Tarean Folston, the No. 116 overall recruit in the country.
