It never fails. Every January down the home stretch of the recruiting cycle, many of the nation’s top committed prospects get the itch to look around and some of them end up elsewhere.
Prospects become flippers for different reasons- coaching changes (which are the primary reason), change of heart, better sales pitch by another school, mistakes made by the school that has the commit and other reasons all have factored in in year’s past. Quite honestly, 95 percent of the prospects that flip have valid reasons to do so.
For the Class of 2012, there are several “flipper” candidates among the top prospects in the country. Here’s a look at the eight top prospects with the potential to flip and if we believe they ultimately will end up signing with another school on Feb. 1 or later.
