Alex Jacobson has been plagued by back injuries throughout his Arizona career. He redshirted as a freshman in 2007 and sat out nearly all of the 2010-11 campaign due to lower back issues. Jacobson shed about 20 pounds this off season to alleviate some of the stress on his lower back, but continues to be slowed by nagging pains. The hope is to get Jacobson spot minutes throughout the Pac-12 slate.

Jacobson has solid size and a deft touch around the basket. His scoring effectiveness is out to 17-feet and has proven to be a capable rebounder and defender when healthy. In 2009, Jacobson made 10-of-12 field goals.
