Chol is a versatile hybrid forward that projects to small forward long term. He is second in the nation all-time in career blocked shots and second in the state of California all-time in career rebounds. He is nearing 2,000 points in his high school career, helping his Hoover team to its fourth straight Eastern League title in 2011. Chol committed to the Arizona Wildcats during a televised press conference on Feb. 17, 2011.

Arizona:
Chol is seeing minutes as a true freshman for the Wildcats. A player with the potential to score in the mid-range, Chol is currently being asked to bang inside to help Arizona's front court. Chol has shown glimpses of his shot-blocking prowess and scoring ability, but his development into a true impact player is likely a year away. Playing inside, Chol lacks the lower body strength to be 100% effective, but for this talented freshman the more minutes he gets the better he'll become. The hope is to continue to bring Chol along this season with a potential breakout game or two along the way. Over the summer, Arizona's weight training and conditioning program will take effect, producing a much more devastating interior force during his sophomore campaign.
