Bio
Travel team: CIA Bounce
May 2011: Bennett has a nice physical frame for the power forward position. He's athletic and primarily plays 15 feet and in. Very good bounce and runs the court well for a big man. He's accustomed to playing in an up-tempo system at Findlay Prep and looks comfortable so far this spring in that similar style. When the game does slow down, though, Bennett lacks a reliable scoring move with his back to the basket but has shown an ability to convert shots in heavy traffic. He boxes out well and doesn't solely rely on his height and leaping ability to grab boards, but does struggle somewhat in defending versatile bigs in space away from the basket. With a little fine tuning, Bennett shows great promise.
June 2011: Bennett took his game to another level at the Pangos All-American Camp in Los Angeles. Bennett scored inside and out and took advantage of his wide frame and high motor to beat his man up the floor and get into scoring position where he finished more times than not. Impressive was Bennett's willingness to sacrifice his body, diving for loose balls, hurling his body out of bounds to make a save and battling on the glass all weekend against some of the best frontcourt prospects in the country.
