HIGH SCHOOL: Attended Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock, Ill. • was a three-year letterwinner • led team to an 11-1 record and conference championships as both a junior and a senior • helped team advance to the state quarterfinals as a junior and senior • named conference and area Player of the Year in 2011 and 2012 • was a first-team all-state selection in 2012 and was recognized as Academic All-State in 2011 and 2012 • named team MVP after a senior season in which he completed 172 of 250 passes (68.8%) for 2,662 yards and 26 touchdowns • threw only four interceptions • also rushed for 1,276 yards and 22 touchdowns • passed for a touchdown in all 12 games and rushed for a score in 10 games • threw for 2,456 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior, while also rushing for 970 yards and 17 scores • handled punting duties as well, averaging 35.65 yards on 17 punts as a senior • coached by Ed Brucker.
