COLLEGE: 2011: Played in four games ... Played 33 snaps on offense, 10 on defense and six on special teams for a total of 49 ... Became the first Hokie since Macho Harris in 2008 to see action on offense, defense and special teams in the same season. 2010: Worked at right guard on the scout team … Showed improvement on all four major lifts during off-season workouts … Turned in a 410-pound bench press and a 420-pound front squat … Moved to the left guard spot for spring practice. 2009: Was unable to join contact work until late September while continuing to recover from knee surgery the previous spring … Practice at tackle, but did not see game action … Bench pressed 390 pounds during off-season workouts … Was asked to move to offense after seven spring practices … Worked at the right offensive guard spot the rest of the way. 2008: Worked at defensive tackle … Ended up redshirting … Bench pressed 373 pounds and turned in a 500-pound back squat during off-season workouts … His 4.70 clocking in the 40 was the best among defensive tackles … Turned in a tackle for a 7-yard loss in one of the early spring scrimmages … Suffered a torn ACL during the final Saturday scrimmage prior to the spring game. 2007: Entered school for the second semester in January 2008 … Went through off-season workouts … Worked at defensive tackle during spring practice … Had two tackles and a fumble recovery during one of Tech’s spring scrimmages … Also had a tackle in the Maroon-White game. HIGH SCHOOL: Named second-team All-Met by The Washington Post as a defensive lineman his final year … Saw action at defensive end and tackle, as well as offensive tackle for Coach Danny Hayes … Contributed 108 tackles, nine sacks, seven pass deflections and three forced fumbles as a senior … Earned first-team all-league, all-county and all-state honors … Helped the team to 14-0 record and the Maryland 3A state championship in 2005 … Earned honorable mention all-state and All-Met honors along the defensive line.
