Bio
Elston, like Tom Pritchard and Matt Roth, committed to Indiana when Kelvin Sampson was still in charge, but he honored his commitment and signed with the Hoosiers in 2008. A junior forward with a strong face-up game as well, Elston was a first-team All-State performer and an Indiana All-Star in his senior season at Tipton.
Though his father played at North Carolina, Elston elected to stay in-state. In three years in Bloomington, he has developed into an strong frontcourt bench option. During the 2011-12 season, IU coach Tom Crean became fond of referring to Elston as one of "seven starters," including Will Sheehey and the original starting five, because his ability and improvement meant he would have started, but for the depth in front of him.
