Derryck Thornton is a 6-0, 150-pound Point Guard from Chatsworth, CA.
Travel Team: California Basketball Club (CPC)
July 2012 Evaluation: Thornton has the hard skills and intangibles to be a pure point guard. His floor leadership is off the charts and he's yet to play a single high school game. Thornton has little trouble competing against opponents 3-5 years his elder thanks to mental toughness, basketball savvy, and quickly developing frame. He plays fast, but more importantly under control. He's a capable scorer in transition, and an overall facilitator in the half court set.
HIGH SCHOOL: 2013 All-Alpha Conference first team...2012 Torrey Pines, Oxnard and Simi Valley All-Tournament Teams.
