Okonoboh played at Tilton (NH) as a sophomore, where he played alongside Nerlens Noel, before transferring to Wilbraham & Monson Academy.

Okonoboh played AAU for Mass Rivals. Okonoboh's AAU coach, Vin Pastore, told 247Sports this summer that Goodluck is "the best shot blocker in the country." Pastore has been quoted as saying Okonoboh has a 7-3.5" wingspan.
