Bio
Turner has decided to leave the Arizona program following an up and down freshman season.
Josiah Turner was Arizona's top recruit in 2011, ending his high school career as the No. 2 point guard recruit in the nation and 10th-best player overall. Turner began his high school career at Sacramento High School (Calif.) before transferring to Quality Education (N.C.) early in his senior season.
Turner has a strong handle and is poised to man the point guard position for Arizona in the year's ahead. He's averaging 7.1 points per game as a true freshman through Arizona's first 13 games. The Wildcats are looking for Turner to become a better distributor of the basketball while not losing his aggressiveness as a scorer.
Since being suspended for a game for violating team rules, Turner has really turned on the jets and taken more of a leadership role on the court. The true freshman has maintained his 7.0 scoring averaging while starting to contribute in more ways on the defensive end of the floor with steals, blocked shots and hustle plays.
