Lyons redshirted his freshman season at Xavier due to high school transfer eligibility concerns (3 high schools in 4 years). He was considered a partial qualifier by the NCAA Clearinghouse. As a result, Lyons expects to graduate in May 2012 with one year of college eligibility remaining. Lyons plans to transfer from Xavier and enroll in graduate school to finish out his final season of college basketball.
May 4, 2012: Lyons chooses Arizona. He will graduate with a Bachelor's Degree from Xavier and enroll in graduate school at Arizona by July. Lyons considered Arizona, Kansas and Kentucky, and is eligible to play for the Wildcats this 2012-13 season.
