His father Jim Morrissey played linebacker at Michigan State before moving on to play 10 seasons in the NFL including a Super Bowl winning season with the Chicago Bears following the 1985 season. ...Other brother Michael Morrissey played linebacker at Boston College, and older sister Anna Morrissey is currently a guard on the Michigan State basketball team.
