Named to the California CIF Division 1A First Team. Helped lead Orange Lutheran to the CIF Southern Section Division 1A title.

Payton Banks is one of the more intriguing 2013 prospects. Banks entered the Orange Lutheran program as a freshman playing power forward. However, based on team need, he's spent his junior season as the Lancers' point guard, displaying his incredible versatility. Banks, playing alongside 2012 Arizona signee Gabe York, gives Orange Lutheran one of the more lethal backcourts in Southern California.

Next season, Banks will be the star of the show for Orange Lutheran so expect his stock to rise even more. This spring and summer (2012), Banks will be competing on the AAU circuit for the Compton Magic.

Banks already has a high-level step back jumper out to the 3-Point line. His ball handling skills have also dramatically improved this past year while playing the point position. He projects to more of a small forward at the college level, but can and will likely be utilized at any of the perimeter positions. Banks projects to a high-major college program due to his size, strength, versatility, and scoring prowess.

AAU Team: Compton Magic (Compton, Calif.).
