COLLEGE: Linebacker who returns for his redshirt junior season after missing nearly all of the 2010 campaign with a hamstring injury... is the quarterback of the defense... listed atop the depth chart at the "Mike" linebacker position... has made 12 career starts while registering over 100 tackles in just over two campaigns. 2010: Missed all but one game with hamstring injury suffered on the first day of preseason drills... credited with seven tackles and recovered two fumbles vs. Auburn... reaggravated the injury and did not play again... petitioned for a medical redshirt. 2009: Sophomore linebacker who moved into the starting lineup when Rodney Paulk was injured in the season opener and became the squad's leading tackler... played in all 13 games making 11 starts... registered a team-leading 85 tackles, including 47 solo stops... logged double figures in tackles three times. 2008: Played in all 13 games as a true freshman... saw action both on special teams and at linebacker... joined the squad in January and went through spring drills... named the Most Improved Inside Linebacker in the spring. HIGH SCHOOL: Graduated from First Coast High School in Jacksonville, Fla., in December 2007... while leading his team to an 11-3 record and the district title... named the area's Defensive Player of the Year by The Florida Times-Union and was an all-state selection... was the first Gamecock commitment for 2008.
