Pittsburg (Calif.) defensive tackle Jacob Bandes was outstanding all week at The Opening Finals, as seen above in highlights from Frisco.

Bandes was named the Overall DL MVP, made the Final Five for Defensive Linemen and was on the 247Sports Opening Finals Dream Team.

From earning Alpha Dog status from the defensive line on day one throughout the rest of the honors during the week, the All-American selection proved that he's not just the top defensive tackle in the West, but among the elite tackles nationally in the 2019 class.

Bandes closed out the event with a huge bang, emphatically winning all three of his reps in the Final Five to put a capper on a great week for him.

In the 1on1's, he consistently used his quick first step and his strength to get off his blocks and get into the backfield. His quickness and agility were a problem all week for the offensive linemen.

He even earned some rave reviews from the top defensive tackle in college football, Ed Oliver, who was a counselor at the event and worked with Bandes

On the recruiting trail, Cal, Colorado, Illinois and Washington are among his top schools and Ole Miss and Florida have since offered Bandes, who's been selected to both the 2019 All-American Bowl in San Antonio and the Polynesian Bowl in Honolulu.

Bandes is the No. 6 defensive tackle by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings but 247Sports has him at No. 4 nationally at the position.
