Titans Athletics Home Events Without Spectators
FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton Athletics continues to work closely with campus leadership to monitor and respond to the evolving coronavirus situation. Based on the discussions with the campus administration, the recommendation from the NCAA and out of an abundance of caution, attendance at all Cal State Fullerton Athletics home events will be limited to essential personnel only until further notice. Essential personnel are defined as student-athletes, coaches, team trainers and medical personnel, game officials, operational and administrative staff, and credentialed media members. Spectators who have pre-purchased tickets for scheduled events during this time period may contact the Athletics Ticket Office via phone or email athletictixs@fullerton.edu. All home baseball and softball games will be available to watch on BigWest.TV. Also follow @FullertonTitans and our team accounts on Twitter for live updates from events.
Cal State Fullerton Athletics will continue to follow California State University travel guidelines regarding team and personnel travel. At this point in time, teams will continue to practice and compete.
We will continue to closely monitor the situation as well as recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Orange County Department of Public Health, and we will work together with campus officials to make any additional changes deemed in the best interest of our student-athletes, coaches, staff and fans.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the following steps to help keep our community safe:
Wash your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or your elbow.
Stay home if you are sick or have chronic breathing problems (including asthma, COPD, or emphysema).
Titan Athletics continues to incorporate enhanced cleaning measures and public hygiene practices, including numerous hand sanitizing stations, at its athletic facilities.

  • Unreal. Let's all sit indoors with masks on.

  • Umpires dream . . .

  • user generated

  • Let's hope the one and only camera doesn't go down.

  • I have a tree with a great view all picked out at the Arboretum for this weekend's games.

  • Mike Martinez, his iPhone 7 video camera and the sporadically updated game situation graphics are about to be seen by ALL Titan faithful. I look forward to reading the critical acclaim of this amazing sports production.

  • We’re fortunate to have Mike Martinez.

  • Season is about to get suspended.

  • Question: What if we just showed up?

We've all been to Goodwin Field. There are no gates or doors preventing you from walking up the paved hill from Lot G to Goodwin. It would be different if it were to Titan Gym where they can close and lock doors. (Honestly, the basketball team should counsel the baseball players on what it is like to play in front of empty seats.)

The campus is not on lock down. Fram has not declared Marshal Law. So you go and sit in your seat. Are they going to have you arrested for trespassing? Show them your ticket and let them know you have a legal right to be a public place.

Plus a civil disobedience on your record could be pretty cool. You could join the ranks of MLK Jr, Malcom X, George Clooney, Daryl Hannah, Susan Sarandon...

Probably won't matter anyway, with the way other conferences are losing their minds and canceling and postponing entire seasons, it would not surprise me if Xavier just flew home.

  • You would think the fact that China, which has been hit the hardest and where the virus originated, appears to have this under control that level heads would prevail... oh well, better safe than sorry I guess.

  • Easier under communism to quarantine whole cities and get control of the situation. I agree; better to be safe.

  • That’s okay, I think this would have happened on its own, given the way the baseball team has played and been coached.

  • Now that the NCAA has cancelled all winter and spring championships (including baseball of course), it seems only a matter of time before all the regular season baseball games are cancelled as well.

    Completely unnecessary but not surprising.

The reason China may have it co trolled now is because they can do to their citizens as they wish. They had a building collapse holding people infected, what a coincidence that that building was destroyed. You may take precautions or not, but you are going against containment protocol. Good luck to you.
  • Yeah, I agree. China is a bad example.

If Italy or South Korea can shows signs of recovery then that would be a better indicator. Treatment will be key. No doubt we will find a way to deal with this but the question is how long it will take? So much information out there but you know it's not all correct.
