    https://www.panthers.com/schedule/training-camp-central/

    Training Camp begins 7/25.

IMO, its still us and the Saints. Falcons are spoilers and the Bucs are an afterthought.

    ****************

    Main issues:

How is Cam after shoulder surgery.

How will the OL block for him.

How will be be used in the offense.

Who will be the "go to" receivers.

  • The schedule is doable. Just need Cam to be accurate and strong. Daryl Williams needs to stay healthy for the O-line to be effective. I don't see a super bowl run in this group, however Rivera seems to have big years coming off losing seasons.

    I will say optimistically 9-7.

  • Preseason officially starts tonight with the HiF game between the Falcons and Broncos at 8pm on NBC!

  • Cam is the key. Hopefully his shoulder stays intact, and with his new throwing motion it should help. DJ Moore really did well last year so I think he’ll be productive, and in camp Samuel has all of a sudden turned on the switch.

Defensively we ought to be solid as hell on the front seven. Burns looks like the real deal in camp, and if Irvin has anything left in the tank he should be an upgrade too. Poe wasn’t very impressive last year and Short seemed to take a step back, but if they can step up a bit and with the addition of McCoy, the DL could be big time. I’m not sold on the back end though. Bradberry and Reid can do it, but I don’t know that Boston was the safety we were looking for. Jackson will improve with another year under his belt, but I think they’re still searching at nickel.

I like the Tre Boston signing. He’s made some plays over the years. I’m also worried about nickel. I don’t think Corn Elder is the answer.

If we can get any productivity out of our line I’ll be excited. Panthers and the 3-4 will be new to me (and everyone). Looking forward to watching it unfold with Shaq and Luke in the middle. Then Burns/Irvin and Mario Addison/Irvin/Obada coming off the edge. I am very concerned about the OLB coverage ability considering most of them have always had a hand in the dirt.

But it all hinges on Cam’s shoulder. Everything. If that shoulder holds up, this year has potential. We need it to hold up. Luke is getting older and CMC, while still young, is an NFL RB who touched the ball 326 times last year. If he keeps that up his prime may be the over in the next 4 years. Cam’s shoulder needs to hold up or we may see a rebuild of sorts.

Panthers need to start looking good again...letting the bears back in.

True but I’m not sure they are the old Browns.

It’s preseason. But Grier looks god awful.

Yeah, TWO BAD TURNOVERS. Then he magically throws for a TD while I am leaving Kickback Jacks. And then looked ok on that last drive. The backups aren't doing it for me so far.

  • Definitely got it going on later in the game.

  • And to think when he was drafted people said he was better than Cam

Those predictions were a reach to say the least.

I thought Kyle Allen looked fairly solid.

  • I think Burns earned his hype with two sacks in the first half.

Agreed. And you gotta love the spiderman celebration.

I saw people on twitter yesterday saying Grier would replace Cam by week 7.

Cam really gets more shade thrown his way than any other NFL QB, and merely for his skin color and flamboyance. You know, the things that matter on the field. It’s not just fans either, Colin Cowherd has always had a hard on for bad mouthing Cam. Not that anyone takes anything that blowhard says seriously. The shade and badmouthing is ok, it’s just ignorance, but the serious part is the lack of protection he gets from the refs. Opposing teams know when the play Carolina, it’s pretty much open season on Cam, and there’s so much video evidence of blatantly illegal hits with no flags, that it’s got to be purposeful, and discussed beforehand by the referees

I think on the field its flamboyance and his sheer size. Based on the age of the person skin color may be a factor, but I think its largely his actions, the towel over the head, the dancing etc.....Personally I love that he hates losing, love that he wants to have fun, and off the field he does so much for Children regardless of color that its wonderful. The stuff from college with his dad didn't help him start on the right foot as well. However a healthy Cam elevates the panthers from a 5-8 win team to a 9-14 win team.

  • This is going to be a good year for the Panthers, get on board now if you aren't already.

  • Raiders fans, is AB worth this

Seems is too much drama to be worth it and that is why the Steelers let his head case go, no the Raiders get to deal with it.

They'll find out soon. Considering he was throwing up monster numbers it what most would call the toughest defensive division in football, I think he will be fine in Oakland. No doubt he is me first though.
