The Los Angeles Lakers fell to 0-2 in the California Classic from Sacramento, Calif. on Tuesday when they lost 89-74 to the Miami Heat.

For the second consecutive outing, former Florida State guard Xavier Rathan-Mayes started at point guard for the Lakers. He finished with nine points on 4-for-11 (36.4%) shooting from the floor including 0-for-1 (0%) from deep. He was 1-for-2 (50%) at the charity stripe. He also had five assists, two rebounds and a turnover. He finished with a +/- of -14 in 24 minutes of play.

The Lakers action in the California Classic concludes on Thursday at 3 p.m. against the Golden State Warriors.

The Lakers will then participate in the full league NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas, Nev. That league starts on July 6th with the Lakers first game on July 7th.

Rathan-Mayes is one of six former Seminoles that is set to participate in the NBA Summer League from Las Vegas, Nev. The other former Seminoles participating are Jonathan Isaac and Braian Angola with the Orlando Magic, Dwayne Bacon with the Charlotte Hornets, Malik Beasley with the Denver Nuggets and Okaro White with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
