Fresno State at Boise State: Game 1 Thread

  • The next game the Dogs will lose by 40 or more as Boise will not play the way they did in the 1st half against the Dogs. Hill was 1 for 10. Stroud did not play. Guys can not play for extended periods as they are out of shape. Boise did not have that problem.

  • Boise must have woke with 8 minutes in game and wondered why they had not blown Dogs out and got down to business to put it to Dogs. These Dogs are a seventh place team and 22 point losses is what happens to bottom tier teams. Dogs at minimum are two years away from not losing badly to teams like Boise.

  • When asked why Stroud did not play, Hutson declined to say why. It sounds like he will play on Friday.

  • CHUT was testy in the press conference. You can tell he does not like the questions. He also implied the guys gave up. It also sounds like he is losing his players based on what he said.

Had to be some sort of violation of team rules. Hopefully a lesson was learned.

  • Breaking team rules is synonimous with Fresno State Mbb

  • That 2nd half was rough to say the least. Idk what it is with this team. Obviously it's a ton of new guys that I think are still learning to play together, but this team is too talented to be losing games this bad. Boise is a talented team of course, but that was tough to watch. ESPECIALLLY not seeing Stroud out there, who was been one of the most consistent parts of this team. Guess we're not playing to win anymore.

Well I respect Coach Hut for holding players accountable for breaking team rules regardless of winning.
  • How do we know if they broke team rules? Was Stroud in uniform?

First it was Cage now it's Stroud.

Maybe players are lashing out and he's trying to hone in on his team.

  • Who knows. He may be informally holding back playing time based on effort, attitude, and/or execution of the his court expectations.

We do know that there was no formal discipline or injury reported. It's all speculation to us fans.

  • Player attitudes and competivess should identified during recruitment process to avoid these issues surfacing in college.

Good luck with the perfection you think should be achieved when recruiting. These are college kids. It's not like we are watching or experiencing the Tark/Lopes era of player character issues of the past. I see no evidence of that same type of issues with Coach Hut/Coach Terry/Coach Cleveland.
