2017 game here. The full game used to be available on YouTube but looks like it was taken down. Highlights still up. Watching Marshall bank in 3's is still one of my favorite memories!

    2017 Nevada @ New Mexico

  • I’ll be there! Looking forward to experiencing the Pit. I’m sure NM and their fans will be up for this game (even with their team not meeting expectations early).

  • I was at the UNM @ AFA game Wednesday night. UNM had a pretty weak press that AFA couldn't handle, and they chuck up a bunch of 3's. As it seems to go for us this year (except for the USU game), they'll probably hit a whole bunch of 3's to start the game and put us in a hole. I'm not sure if Weir will use that press on us, but I sure hope he does. The middle of the key was wide open the whole game, but AFA just couldn't hit a shot.

  • The Lobo offense averages 15.2 turnovers per game, and unless the threes are falling, they're not great. But what really jumps out is their defense: #214 in KenPom adjusted D, even while they create 14.7 of their own turnovers per game.

It's difficult/ill-advised to be too confident of a blowout win at the Pit...but if Nevada plays anything like they did on Wednesday -- especially on defense -- it shouldn't be close.

  • With over 12,000 expected to be in the building a Loyola type start is ideal.

  • Lobo fans are exceptionally loud. 12k will sound like 20k

  • I have my UNR family here in MN watching the game!! Lets roll 25 on these guys early and often!!

  • Nevada looking as flat as they have all season so far.

Nevada looking as flat as they have all season so far.

We’ve seen this before. Rebound and go to the basket please.

  • We act like we have never seen a zone before.

  • Jazz should be on one wing with porter crashing in for a lob.

  • How do we not have better out of bounds plays??

  • That was pathetic half of basketball in every category imaginable.

  • It’s funny, NM implemented a zone 3 weeks ago and are 2-1 and muss wouldn’t play zone if his life depended on it. Instead we get killed in the paint playing small ball with 2 6-11 kids on the bench.

  • Hopefully they pull it out..........but this has been coming for over a month. The offense has looked terrible for long stretches for the last 7 games. Every game (start) looks just like the last.........1 for 9 or 10 three's............no adjustment to the zone..........turn-overs (which have been a strong point) are increasing. So far 22% from behind the arch and 16% from the line. Hate to lose a conference game........but losing one early and dropping to where we really belong (somewhere between 10-20) could take some of the pressure off. Playing on the road in the MWC conference is tough..........if you come in with a sub-par effort..........you leave with an "L."

  • Muss isn’t acting pissed? Maybe saw it coming? Can’t even make a free throw!

  • Imo 10pt difference at 10 minute mark is the key to our win or loss, we will win if we get it there.

I agree with everything but the “On the road thing” I’m sure the ACC, SEC, Big 10 is a little tougher

We are killing ourselves at the FT line and in our lack of passing. As I say this, the Lobos are standing in the lane before Caleb takes his FT- how is that never called?

  • We play against a zone every game at this point. Every team plays it against us. Everyone. We need to use it in practice so we don't look like idiots in games. We look terrible against it. Caroline going 1-on-1 with no passing is okay sometimes, but if that is the only zone play we have, we need to do better. Also, having a good passing big is essential to breaking a zone. Therefore, we need to get Brown up and running, because he has better hands than Porter.

  • Well, it was fun while it lasted. Probably drop to #12-15 after getting blown out by the Lobos. First time I've seen Muss out coached, and the guys play like they don't care.

At this point I feel like if we had a solution to it we would’ve found it by now. That solution is shooting. We don’t have it.

  • 1 on 4 offense is not a good game plan. Caroline is passionate g up a wide open Jazz Johnson. Martin twins are just driving in to the lane but aren't aware of the defenders planted waiting for a charge.
I guess if it was going to happen at least it is on the road.

  • When we don't get double digit scoring from Jazz we're in trouble.

    BINGO!!! Thank you

  • Welp, congrats to New Mexico, they’ve completely outplayed AND outcoached Nevada tonight. The Lobos deserve to win, and Nevada deserves to lose by 20.

Hopefully this is the wake up call Nevada needs. They’ve been playing with fire for too long and it’s catching up to them. Burn the tape, learn they aren’t immortal to losing, and show some heart next week.
