NC State has landed another elite defensive lineman in the 2019 class. This time around, it was defensive tackle Joshua Harris pulling the trigger on a commitment for the Wolfpack following a frenzy of visits throughout June that included as many as four visits in an eight-day span.

Harris had an offer list that included the likes of Alabama, Clemson, Notre Dame, Penn State, Texas A&M and Wisconsin. Prior to making his decision to run with the Pack, Harris had a top five that included Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and UNC-Chapel Hill.

The addition of Harris now gives NC State 17 commitments in the 2019 class, including multiple elite prospects on the defensive side of the ball. With a list that includes Savion Jackson, Drake Thomas, C.J. Clark, Jalen Frazier and Jakeen Harris already, State is building yet another special class on both sides of the ball after a strong crop in 2018.

Scouting Report: Harris, one of the strongest prospects in the country, is a one-man wrecking crew in the trenches. He physically overwhelms nearly everyone at the high school level. Harris is explosive off the ball and has quick, violent hands, which allow him to shed blocks effectively.

Harris is extremely athletic for a player his size. The massive defensive tackle has the ability to collapse the pocket or split a double team. He displays good flexibility and changes directions fluidly. Harris is stout against to run, but can also rush the passer. He takes good pursuit angles and closes quickly on the ball.

Why he's important to 2019 class: Defensive line is pivotal to any college football program's success, and after losing four to the NFL Draft earlier this year, it's a huge position of need for NC State in the 2019 recruiting cycle. The Wolfpack's plan is to take four in this recruiting class (two defensive tackles and two defensive ends).

NC State got off to hot start last month when it landed four-star Clayton (N.C.) defensive end Savion Jackson on June 13. Five days later, four-star New London (N.C.) North Stanly defensive tackle C.J. Clark committed to the Wolfpack . Then today, State landed Harris, who is the third four-star defensive lineman in its 2019 class.

At 6-foot-2, 316 pounds, Harris is one of the most physically imposing prospects in the nation. He'll push for playing time as soon as he steps on campus and should make a substantial impact as a true freshman.

With three defensive linemen in the fold, NC State still hopes to add one defensive end. The Wolfpack's top targets are Florissant McCluer (Mo.) North JUCO's Jacoby Jones and Concord (N.C.) Cox Mill's Terrell Dawkins.

Harris' commitment moves NC State to No. 17 in the 2019 247Sports Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 20 in the 247Sports Football Composite Recruiting Rankings.
