CHAPEL HILL, N.C. --- It's now or never for the North Carolina defensive line. The experienced personnel is there for 2018, as is the talent and depth, so this should be the best the unit has been in Larry Fedora's Tar Heel tenure.

"We got a bunch of guys who have experience. We've got guys who have played the game," said head coach Larry Fedora. "From Jalen Dalton to Aaron Crawford to Malik Carney, Tomon Fox. We have guys who have experience. And so I am excited about that experience."

Crawford and defensive line coach Deke Adams echoed those thoughts, that experience would be the difference maker this season

"There is a lot of experience coming back from this group and a lot of guys who have played a lot of reps," Adams said.

Crawford added, "I think because of the amount of returners we have I'd say it is the strongest group. Coach Adams always says that the defense goes as we go, so as long as we are taking care of our job up front it will make it easier for the guys on the back end."
