Note on Graham and Bateman Reports

  • Earlier this evening Inside Carolina received information from reliable and credible sources that Graham Harrell had agreed to be the offensive coordinator at UNC, and Jay Bateman had similarly made an agreement to become the defensive coordinator.

We’ve since received information that has called the hires into question. In addition, Bruce Feldman of The Athletic reports that Harrell will remain at North Texas.

We’re continuing to investigate and will update this situation as we receive more information.

It is always our mission to provide accurate and timely information to our subscribers and in light of the additional information we've received we are pulling both stories at this time.

    Too late.

  • Ic is about as right as a broken clock.

Who are these so called "sources"?

  • What a joke. This is absolutely embarrassing. Most likely kills any chance sealing a deal with either.

  • Shameful. If your source didn't tell you that Harrell and Bateman had *signed*, then you had no business reporting this as if it were a done deal, and should instead have clearly said that they'd agreed *in principle* but had NOT yet signed.

    sources are no longer reliable

  • Well this is just super. What a cluster this has turned into on the biggest recruiting weekend of the year no less.

Why can't we have nice things?

  • Inside Carolina is no friend of UNC football, unfortunately. Maybe Fedora had it right,

  • Did IC hire Fed? or Dan Kane?

  • Unless you'e talking to Mack Brown, Bubba Cunningham, or the new hire himself, you don't have reliable and credible sources. Stop posting rumors.

    Yep.

    Yep.

not a deal breaker per se... but yes looks terrible

  • Mack should know better. Zero leaks until ink on paper.

  • Honestly with what's happened with the Greg Robinson situation and now this with not one but both coordinators, it might be better to wait until the ink is dry on the contract before plastering that guys have been hired all over your page.

I'd rather be right, than be in a rush to be first.

  • IC... let’s get this right ok?

We could start by going back to the previous web page interface and get rid of this abortion of a website.

Love the content .... hate the site.

Start jacking up the content and doing the “ready, fire, aim” and it’s not going to take much for me to tune out.

  • Surely there will have to be consequences for foul-ups like this. I get it, it's "only" sports, this is nothing of significance in the big picture but this sort of failed reporting craters IC's credibility. Perhaps irreparably.

and potentially screw the home team program in the process

No accountability at all when u can blame unnamed sources

  • Honestly pretty embarrassing they would run these after Robinson story. If it was the same sources, yikes
