Hubert Davis is one win away from a national championship to end his first season at North Carolina, and the head coach said the Tar Heels' final battle Monday night against top-seeded Kansas will be one of his team's most difficult matchups defensively given the Jayhawks' tempo-driven pace.

"On film, they appear to be the fastest transition team that I've seen this year, whether it's on made or missed baskets, they sprint to offense," Davis said Sunday. "And so it's really important for us that our transition defense -- we always have an end game. And our end game in transition defense is no layups or dunks, no pitch-ahead lace-up 3s, make them make two passes or more so the defense can get set. We'll have to do that tomorrow night."

UNC held off Duke in the final moments of Saturday's 81-77 Final Four win, while the Jayhawks ran away from Villanova in the other national semifinal.
