NEW ORLEANS --- North Carolina fell to Kansas, 72-69, in the National Championship game on Monday night. The Tar Heels took a 15-point into halftime, but the Jayhawks used a 12-1 run to get within two points and then took the lead, 53-50, at the 10:17 mark in the second half. UNC failed to connect on shots down the stretch and Caleb Love's three that would have tied the game fell short at the buzzer.

The Tar Heels were affected by foul trouble throughout the game. Leaky Black missed significant time in the second half with four fouls and Brady Manek and Armando Bacot carried three fouls deep into the second half.

Love finished the game 5-for-24 from the field, including 1-for-8 from three. R.J. Davis was 5-for-17 from the field and 0-for-5 from three. As a team, UNC shot 31.5 percent (23-for-73) from the field and 21.7 percent (5-for-23) from three 

Davis and Armando Bacot led UNC with 15 points each. Bacot registered his 31st double-double and had a double-double in all six NCAA Tournament games.
