A total joke outfit has taken root in Ann Arbor. A bunch of clowns masquerading as a Division one football team.

They are tricking their fans guys! They will NEVER win another game of note.......unless they fire Harbaugh!

Anyone on here planning to attend and maybe take over QB duties for ol' "hair balls!"

  • That is absolutely absurd

  • Every team needs bodies for tackling dummies. Of course, ttun students are so arrogant and desperate, some of those folks probably think they have a chance of seeing the field.

  • A lot of programs do this. Texas does this but I dont know the last time someone actually made the roster as a walk-on through this tryout. It seems arrogant and kind of dumb that a school wouldnt do this, IMO. It's a good cost effective way to see if there are any punters or kickers (as an example) that might be better than the current walk-ons. It's also an avenue where guys that couldnt go to college directly out of high school (such as miliary vets) to live the dream or have the door shut and move on. Texas had a green beret vet try out and eventually become the starting deep snapper.

Agreed. While I’d love to take a shot at the TTUN, these types of things are not uncommon, and there’s no real downside to doing it. You could find some potential talent that may have played for a really small high school, that did not get much attention, as well as, a kid who may not have played high school football because his parents didn’t want him to, but shows potential in a tryout.

  • Nebraska used to built their OL this way.

Plus the PR value. You too can try out for the 'huskers if you want to. Every high school kids' dream in Nebraska. Agree with you, no downside.

For a while there, 5 random kids from Nebraska made a better OLine than 2/3 of the programs in the country. Bunch of cornfed goliaths they grow over there

yeah, but more than that, nebbie cant replicate today the program they had then. If you take 80-100 extra players and put then in the gym/S&C program with roids for 4-5 yrs, then, yeah, you WILL develop some roster players. Can you imagine if Ohio St or Texas did that?
