NORMAN, Okla. — Add FOX Sports 1’s Colin Cowherd to the list of hot takers about OU quarterback Baker Mayfield.

Cowherd called Mayfield undraftable because of his run in—or run away from the cops in Fayetteville, Ark., in early 2017.

“Name me a Hall of Fame quarterback who has a video of him running from the cops in college,” Cowherd said. “I’m sorry, but Baker Mayfield’s got lousy judgment. If you’ve ever run from the cops, you’ve got lousy judgment.

“Running from the police on video—and worst of all they caught him, so he’s slow.”

Mayfield has been anything but slow or lacking good judgment on the field, claiming the school’s sixth Heisman Trophy during a monster senior season.

The two-time former walk-on threw for 4,627 yards and 43 touchdowns to only six interceptions this past season.

He set the FBS single-season passing efficiency record, with a 198.9 rating, which broke his previous record of 196.4 he posted in 2016.

Mayfield led the FBS in 2017 in completion percentage (.705), points responsible for (296) and yards per pass attempt (11.5).

Additionally, he set the Sooner single-season record for total offense with his 4,938 yards.

He guided the Sooners to a 12-2 record and berth in the College Football Playoff Semifinal at the Rose Bowl and finished his career with a 34-6 mark as starting quarterback at OU.

Mayfield threw for more than 12,000 yards in his Sooner career, racking up 119 touchdowns to only 21 interceptions while completing 69.8 percent of his passes.

He also rushed for 18 touchdowns and 893 yards on 316 attempts in finishing fourth-or-better in the Heisman race all three seasons.
