2020 Alexandria (Ky.) Covington Catholic tight end Michael Mayer has claimed a Penn State offer.

Mayer is unranked per the 247Sports Composite rankings, however he is currently regarded as the top tight end in his class by 247Sports. He owns a four-star rating and is ranked as the No. 110 prospect in 2020. The 6-foot-5, 215-pound is the first tight end the Nittany Lions have offered in that cycle, per the 247Sports database.

Mayer received a Michigan offer on Jan. 26, then his third from a Big Ten school. Minnesota and Purdue have also reached out with offers. The Kentucky native attended Notre Dame's Junior Day on Jan. 27, and both predictions on his 247Sports Crystal Ball call for a commitment to the Fighting Irish.

Penn State does not hold any commitments in the class of 2020.
