Penn State makes 2019 athlete's top four

The Lions will be competing with Mississippi State, Tennessee and USC

Penn State made the top four for 2019 Loganville (Ga.) Grayson athlete Ronald Thompkins on Monday.

The Nittany Lions were joined by Mississippi State, Tennessee and USC. Thompkins is a former Florida State commit who reopened his recruitment in September. The 5-foot-11 athlete ranks at No. 335 overall in the 247Sports Composite rankings and as the 30th-best athlete of his class.

At 195 pounds, Thompkins possesses the ability to play wideout, running back or defensive back. He has taken two visits to Knoxville since the hiring of new Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt. USC offered on Feb. 25.

Penn State currently holds two commitments in the 2019 cycle.
