You're naive, this isn't 1940, and college football is big business.

You also don't know how lenient ND is in regards to admission requirements for football players.

Notre Dame hasn't won a title since 1988. I don't think the majority of SC fans and alumns want to do "OK" like that.

Again, no titles since 88. You're sounding like Charlie Brown's teacher to me with all that honorable mention /participation trophy, we'll get em next year stuff regarding ND's resume.

Your argument about college football not being big business really sucks. The fact that the football programs revenue is "only" 10% of the university's inflated $5B "budget" is irrelevant. The Jordan Brand is only 8% of Nike, but I guess that's small potatoes and of course there's no halo effect. Michael Jordan isn't big business.

The Power Five college sports conferences alone generated more than $2.9 billion in 2019, with football far and away the biggest revenue source, which at most schools also funds the non-revenue generating sports and keeps the athletic department running. That's big business.

USC's focus on foreign/international students who pay full price and come from countries that don't give a fck about football might have something to do with the alleged decrease in alumni interest. 23% of the students are international now. We won't even go into how much the football program drives fundraising. I could go on and on attacking your sorry argument.....

From the looks of your screen name you spent more time hitting the bar than hitting the books. Your sauced up logic doesn't cut it. You don't even sound like a supporter of USC football, but more like someone who "does brunch" with Carol Folt. Pass the mimosas!

  • BLL: Nothing but personal attacks and misdirection plays. Can't you make an argument for your position?

  • Trojan901-

My argument was full of numbers including college sports revenue, an example from the business world debunking your nonsense 10%/ not "big busines" point, as well as student demo stats to give a quantitative reason why alumni interest is down instead of your take which claims the raising of academic standards correlated with decreased interest in football which is a weak simplistic take, which you didn't back with any numbers or quantitative evidence of any kind.

Those aren't misdirection plays. I'm running the rock right up the gut.
