West Virginia University's home state is still working through applications and licenses to conduct legal sports gambling in time for the 2018 college football season. This season offers fans of the Mountaineers with a few interesting proposals to consider, if they are so inclined.

Oklahoma is again the Big 12's heavy favorite, but even if the Sooners finish atop the conference, they still have to play another team in the Big 12 championship game. That's not supposed to be the Mountaineers, because those two teams play in the final regular-season game and the Big 12 wants to avoid rematches in back-to-back weeks. Whether WVU can get there depends on how strongly fans feel about the over/under for the regular season. And whether the Mountaineers top that or not will have a lot to do with their star player up for the top individual award.

And then there's that whole national championship deal for the program that's won the most games without winning the biggest prize.

So, how do you feel about putting your money on these numbers?
