Nice Win Tonight

Nice Win Tonight

  • Against the Blazers. TT and Clarkson came to play with Love out. I liked Porter's activity on the glass tonight!

  • The Trailblazers have fallen a long way; I've never seen them this bad. The Cavs ruled the paint tonight and dominated the boards 51-38. Clarkson was on fire with 28 points, including 6-for-6 on 3's. He was the difference tonight in a 6-point win. TT chipped in 25 points including 7-for-7 from the stripe - not what we're used to seeing from him.

With Love out Cedi and Junior made up the slack, grabbing 12 rebounds each. Cedi played excellent defense and also had five assists on a night when his outside shot wasn't there. Other than Clarkson the rest of the Cavs went 4-for-25 from deep. Their legs must have been a little tired from the plane ride from Dallas the night before, not to mention playing their fourth game in six days. It didn't bother Clarkson, though.

The Cavs did a great job containing Lillard and McCollum, holding them to 15-for-39 from the field.

Nice to find a weak team we can beat after all the big boys we've been playing lately.

  • This is encouraging:

"Lillard and McCollum played 21 minutes together while Sexton and Garland were also on the floor, according to NBA.com stats. In those 21 minutes, Lillard and McCollum combined for 23 points and shot a combined 39.1% from the field." - Chris Fedor

Lillard and the Blazers are a mess. Lillard actually played better yesterday shooting 35%, his previous 3 games he shot 16, 21, and 26 percent. Maybe it's the curse of Whiteside, when he was on Miami they stunk and Portland was tough, now Miami is tough and the Blazers look lost.
